Teaching Statement
I agree with Stanley Cavell’s “definition” of philosophy as education for the grown-ups. I thus regard teaching as an essential part of my research activity, taking the opportunity to learn and improve my skills in preparing classes and discussing with my students. I intend this to reflect on my teaching activity at two levels: as a process whereby students learn to critically engage in a new subject-matter, and as a process whereby the teacher himself acquires new perspectives and learns how to better sharpen his own philosophical skills.
I usually teach two seminars per semester, one in English and one in German. The syllabi of my seminars are available upon request (a few are already available below). Check this document for my advices about how to read and write philosophy texts.
